Access For All Workshop

Access For All Workshop 2017-10-18T16:04:14+00:00

Duration: 1 day

From visitor attractions to hotels or local authorities to cruise ships or summer festivals, this core workshop provides an ideal introduction to understanding accessibility from the point of view of your customers and service users with access needs.

This includes people with hearing impairment, vision impairment, mobility impairment and people with autism, learning difficulties or Dementia.

During the workshop you will develop an understanding of the barriers faced by disabled people, learn practical tips to help you improve your own accessibility and develop an action plan to enable you to put this into practice.

This is one of the Foundation workshops for our Accessibility Champion programme.

By the end of the workshop you will have:

  • A greater understanding of accessibility in the U.K.
  • An appreciation of the Equality Act and its implications for you
  • A greater understanding of the barriers faced by disabled people
  • Experienced some of these barriers for yourself
  • Learned practical tips as to how these may be overcome
  • Developed an action-pan to improve the accessibility of your venue or service
  • Improved your confidence, skills and knowledge in welcoming disabled people
